Oh how I long for some quiet and a bed.
about
Kittykatdirtnap began on a hot, hot, HOT summer day in August of 2002. Some say long time friends and former band mates, Erny Pester, Adam Eckhoff and Robyn Montella were always meant to be together. Cosmically woven together with an indissoluble thread, if you will. And some say, it’s all right for pregnant mothers to smoke.
These three joined forces, wrote songs, and began what will forever live in infamy as KKDN. Armed with nothing but two acoustic guitars, a Casio, and their wits, this gang of scalawags rocked the giners and sacks off of all that entered a ten-mile radius.
Alas, it was not good enough. They needed more.
As an acoustic trio they were unstoppable. But could the world carry on continuously being denied the orgasmic sonic explosion that lied just ahead? Day in, day out never knowing what the dirt nap could offer as a full on five-piece? We’re talking unity here people. Drums… Bass… Can you wrap your feeble minds around this? There was no turning back. These two brave men and one fearless woman would answer the call.
Kittykatdirtnap would become a full band.
They searched diligently for a bass player. After trying several people out, they finally found the bearded one, Tommy Bilotta.
KKDN was reborn.
Drummerless and penniless kittykatdirtnap wandered the streets at the end of their ropes. For you see, a show had already been scheduled in Boston. Rumor has it the entire city called and begged to have their asses rocked off. The decision was obvious. It was long time friend, Ben Wawro. Ben brought a much needed breath of raw energy and a rush of creativity to KKDN.
That, and he’s been threatening to beat the crap out of us ever since.
